IMERYS Introduces Contour™ Xtreme
Shape Engineered Kaolin for Paper Coating
April 14th, 2005...
IMERYS introduces CONTOUR™ Xtreme to the global paper industry. This new "fine platy pigment" is a unique new kaolin that provides synergy with carbonates, combining the benefits of platy clays and fine glossing clays. Achieve superior glossing, coverage, brightness, strength and high print quality in the coated graphic paper and packaging markets. Add an extra dimension to structured coating design for better optical synergy, gloss and printability-- replacing expensive pigments like plastic pigment and TiO2.
Contour Xtreme, shape-engineered kaolin, is produced from Middle Georgia crudes. Breakthrough, patent-pending, technology has been made possible through the development of radically new pigment characterization methods and improved mining and processing techniques.
Contour Xtreme will be launched officially at the TAPPI Coating Conference in Toronto in April.
