Contour™ Xtreme is Imerys' new fine, shape-engineered, high brightness kaolin. With its unique particle size and shape, Contour™ Xtreme provides excellent sheet gloss and coverage.
Application
Contour™ Xtreme is designed for applications where excellent coverage and printability are increasingly important and performance improvements over traditional fine glossing kaolin products are desired. Contour™ Xtreme has a unique ability to generate high sheet gloss, print gloss, and light scatter. This offers the papermaker an opportunity to improve paper quality in high carbonate containing coating formulas, while reducing titanium dioxide, and/or plastic pigment. Applications for Contour™ Xtreme include the following segments: Coated Woodfree, Board & Packaging, and Medium to Heavy Weight Coated Mechanical.
