IMERYS Pigments for Paper Paper & Packaging facilities in North and South
America, Europe, Asia
and Australia produce well over 2 million metric tons per
year of ground calcium
carbonate for the paper industry.
Ground Calcium Carbonate (GCC) is produced through mechanical grinding of naturally occurring calcium carbonate rocks. Most Imerys production sites use high brightness marble as the raw material but, at some sites, locally available limestone or chalk is used.
GCC in pigment formulations provides good rheology and high brightness at low cost. IMERYS Pigments for Paper & Packaging has the multi-pigment formulation knowledge to select the best partner pigments to complement GCC, playing to its strengths and avoiding its weaknesses.
